Our church holds two services each week in the right-hand, meeting room part of our storefront on East Diamond Ave. in Old Town Gaithersburg.  They are both open to the public and each last one hour.  There will almost always be an usher at the door to greet you and point you in the right direction toward the meeting room.

Our Pastor

Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Christian Science Church, ordained The Bible and her textbook on Christian healing, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, as pastors of her church.  Each Sunday and Wednesday, Christian Science churches around the world join in hearing a sermon comprised of passages from our pastor.

Our services are conducted by lay readers who are elected from among the membership.  If you wish to speak with someone about Christian Science or a particular topic, you are welcome to speak with the readers, or with anyone else in the congregation.  We are all spiritual thinkers sharing and supporting one another as we learn about God.

Sunday Services, 10-11am

Our services resemble a typical Christian Sunday service.   It includes singing and praying as a congregation, a musical solo, and a sermon.  If you are new to Christian Science and would like a full-text copy of the sermon to follow along with, you can ask one of the ushers and they will gladly provide it.  It is common for students of Christian Science to have a copy of the sermon in advance and to study it throughout the week prior to the service.

Sunday School during the Sunday service, 10-11am

We provide Sunday School for students up to the age of 20 on Sundays at the same time as your regular service.  Children and young adults spend the time with their peers and teacher learning about the Bible, and Science and Health, and how to applying the healing truths in those books to their daily lives.  There is also a children’s room available for children too young to participate in Sunday School. Read more on the Sunday School page.

Wednesday Prayer and Share, 8-9pm

The Wednesday meeting is a little bit different.  It is designed to bring the congregation together to share the results of our study of Christian Science, which can be in the form of sharing inspiration, gratitude, and especially testimonies of healing, physical and otherwise.  Like the Sunday service, Wednesday meetings include readings from The Bible and Science and Health.  The readings are followed by 20-30 minutes of time that is open for anyone in attendance to share gratitude, testimonies and inspiration. You can also listen to and participate in the service by telephone by calling in, and you can get the call-in information by speaking to an usher after any service.
